Mr. Macron thank you. Macron n [cheers] voila. Mr. Macron there we go. There we go. My fellow countrymen, today sunday, april 23, the french people have spoken. Our country is going through unprecedented times in its history, marked by terrorism, economic crisis, social suffering, ecological urgency, and the answer is brilliant. The answer was to go and vote massively. The people decided to take me on to the second round of president ial elections. [cheers] macron macron i am humbled by this. This is a tremendous responsibility thrust upon me. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to present my greetings to all the other candidates. Fillon. Thank you all for having applauded all of them now. This is exactly what you should have done, what you are doing. It looks like what we should be doing. I know that those who supported those candidates are very disappointed, very disappointed themselves. And i should like to thank four already having said that they would vote for me on the s
Him. Without further do, the abbasid or of the united nations. Thank you. We have had an exciting day in hosting the members of the Security Council. This is the most powerful group any sortdes sanctions, of conflict that comes up, this is the group. They would come to d. C. Is overwhelming for them. Extremely pleased. Senators graham and carton, as well as congressman smith and the congresswoman. Probably about an hour and a half talking about issues from budget to peacekeeping issues as well as conflict and syria and iran. A healthy discussion. We came over to the white house and the president greeted all the members, had his picture taken with them, and we all sat down for lunch. The idea that he would have that dialogue with them is tremendously helpful to me. To engage

So i suspect we will look for some more time to do this rather than to get that a congress in three days next week. Theepublicans who control white house and congress, but i hear democrats say the democrats have the upper hand, very much like it would be under president obama. Do you agree . We have a lot of negotiation leverage in this negotiation. Every budget deal over the last ears have been done with democratic votes. I think that will be the situation again this year. They will need democratic votes in both the
Mr. Sessions was nominated to be a federal judge by Ronald Reagan but was rejected by the Senate Judiciary committee. Jeff sessions later served as Alabama Attorney general and spent 20 years in the u. S. Senate. Heres a portion of his confirmation hearing from january. The attorney general of the United States is, of course, the nations chief Law Enforcement officer. He or she is not the president s lawyer, nor is he the president s wingmen, as attorney general holder described himself. Rather, he or she has an independent obligation to the constitution, and to the American People. I know you care deeply about this foundational principle, so i am going to ask you a question i have heard you ask other nominees for attorney general. Occasionally, you will be called upon to offer an opinion to the president who appointed you. You will have to tell him yes or no. Sometimes president s dont like to be told no. So i would like to know, will you be able to stand up and say no to the presiden
