it s a dark and cynical message but was kind of a rhett of fresh air. the 90s was a time of conspiracies and the internet was trying to spread like hard core computer users. everybody wanted to talk about the black oil and the bees and mulder s sister and what the cigarette smoking man would do. i d go to alt tv/the files. people were so nuts r for this show. it s pure science fiction. that s what i like about it. it changed the way people watched television. seeing how they could do things differently than five or ten years ago. sometimes that led to challenging network television that was cool and fun to watch. sometimes it seemed to fall off the edge a little bit.
