The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Comrade Umar Barambu has dissolved the Convention Planning Committee (CPC) of the association. NANS, the umbrella body of students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria, is expected to elect a new set of national leaders. The CPC is the electoral commission of the association.

The warring factions of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) stormed the National Hospital in Abuja in protest of alleged delays by medical personnel in treating colleagues injured during a NANS factional crisis earlier on Friday. Several patients were forced to flee their hospital wards and beds as a result of the NANS factions' violent attack. Meanwhile, police officers are currently at the hospital in a bid to restore law and order.
