Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. did not appreciate the violence of a hit he took from Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee until he saw video of the play. Pittman, the Colts' leading receiver, cleared the concussion protocol Friday and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Atlanta. Kazee, meanwhile, has been suspended for the rest of the regular season for that illegal hit and what the NFL called “repeated violations” of player safety rule...

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence cleared the NFL's concussion protocol Saturday and will travel with the team to Tampa Bay. Lawrence is expected to start against the Buccaneers (7-7) on Sunday, a huge boost for the Jaguars (8-6) as they try to end a three-game losing streak and stay atop the AFC South. Lawrence practiced Friday for the first time all week and was later cleared by team doctors and the league's independent neurological consultant.

The Washington Commanders are bringing their 32nd-ranked defense to New York to square off against the Jets' NFL-worst offense. MetLife Stadium could be the site of a Christmas Eve snoozefest Sunday when the Commanders (5-10) — losers of five straight — face the Jets (4-9), who have dropped six of their past seven. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was scheduled to practice Friday despite remaining in the NFL's concussion protocol. New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson remained in the concussion protocol Thursday and hasn't participated in practice this week, making it more likely Trevor Siemian will start Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett certainly sounded as though he was preparing to have Siemian under center. “We have to look at all the different things Trevor’s comfortable with that we can get going this week,” Hackett said.

Head Coach Doug Pederson believes Lawrence sustained the concussion on a play in the fourth quarter, although the Jags star QB finished out the game, a 23-7 loss to Baltimore.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are good at a lot of things and great at nothing. Jacksonville simply has more holes than heroes. A roster that general manager Trent Baalke and coach Doug Pederson believed was good enough to compete for a Super Bowl might not even have the talent and depth to win the rebuilding AFC South.

Houston’s win over Tennessee on Sunday was a throwback, as a quarterback from the Texans' past led them to the thrilling overtime victory with C.J. Stroud out with a concussion. Case Keenum hadn’t started a game since the 2021 season and hadn’t played at all this year before throwing for 229 yards and a touchdown in the 19-16 win that kept Houston's playoff hopes alive. It’s unclear if Stroud will be cleared to return this weekend.
