Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which includes NCL, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Oceania Cruise, submitted its restart plan to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday.
The plan, which can be found in full here, outlines NCLH’s target to restart in July, a plan that it says is “consistent with the CDC’s updated guidance that international travel is safe for fully vaccinated individuals and that COVID-19 vaccination efforts will be critical in the safe resumption of cruise line travel.”

On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its guidance for the cruise industry, refreshing its rules and requirements for a potential restart.
While the CDC added new language to its technical instructions, which it said was part of step two of a four-step program, it has still not given cruise lines a restart date for operations out of U.S. ports (some lines have committed to a restart elsewhere).
“CDC is committed to working with the cruise industry and seaport partners to resume cruising when it is safe to do so, following the phased approach outlined in the CSO,” the CDC said on Friday.

LED projects qualify for rebates
MOUNT DESERT The town will pay MCM Electric in Hall Quarry up to $48,600 to replace existing light fixtures with LED lights at the police department in the Town Hall building and in the truck bays at the highway garage.
By participating in the Efficiency Maine rebate program, the town will receive $7,132 in rebates for the two LED projects.
The Board of Selectmen voted at a special meeting Monday to approve the expenditure and to accept the rebates.
Public Works Director Tony Smith said estimates for furnishing and installing the LED fixtures were requested from four local electrical contractors that are certified by Efficiency Maine. MCM Electric was the only contractor that submitted an estimate.
