Yesterday they were super far apart. and now they are more in alignment. and the american model moved toward the european model. and that would be great news for a direct landfall and verified from the storm. we have a huge spread and making it difficult to give an exact forecast. we need to watch this one. thats the bottom line. it is very strong and likely to becoming a category 4 later today. it is a strong hurricane and the cone brings it up here, maybe toward the eastern sea board. and mayb...

At. the were also looking at most of the models taking it to the west. this is quite a bit farther south than some of the earlier runs. you remember new york city was well into the center of that cone. now its sort of shifting back down to the west. however, one model that we look at very, very closely, the european model, has it over bermuda sunday afternoon, while the gfs model has it over north carolina. theres about a thousand miles between the two. and so were hoping that in the coming day ...

You have to remember dont follow the center line on this cone. storms only make landfall two-thirds of the time, so theres a lot of uncertainty. it stretches from north carolina all the way up through maine. so anywhere from the carolinas all the way up the northeast coast needs to be aware. but you also need to be aware of what were dealing with here as you said computer models all over the place. some of them may have it making landfall in the carolinas. others the mid-atlantic. theres still p...

Storm is. 125 mile per hour sustained winds, approaching the central bahamas. gusts of 155. so this is a very powerful major category 3 storm. we could possibly even see strengthening to a category 4 by friday. and it is going to lose strength while its out in the open ocean as it travels to the north. were looking at monday possibly off the coast of carolinas. whats interesting here, a lot of people focused on the center of the cone. dont do that. look at the cone at its entirety. the west side...
