away. [laughter] neil: that was right after meeting of democrats when they heard howard schultz is entertaining a run in third party. i m nile cavuto, pollster lee carter and congresswoman hayworth and mitchell. mitchell, you were telling me that someone like a schultz would swipe votes away and hand to donald trump. why is that considered a given? well, there s the whole idea if he runs as independent he will take votes away from democrats but i don t necessarily this it s true, independent candidate that could possibly take votes away from either party. when you look at it, the democratic party is moving too
know runs one of the biggest venture capital firms, the most important in silicon valley, kliner perkins, was one of the board members at hp who actually did vote to fire carly fiorina in 2005. and he recently took out a full-page ad in the new york times saying, guess what, we were wrong, it was one of the most dysfunctional corporate boards in history, carly fiorina saw it 100 yards down the field things that none of the rest of us did. she was forthright in what she did. and she was correct. and in fact many companies did not survive that era of the tech bust. hp did. and in the years that followed carly s tenure, the several years that followed, the country did very well and she has been proven to have had foresight and been right. tom perkins is no one to trifle with, and he is a strong supporter. congresswoman hayworth, thanks for taking the time and for answering the hard
this is live pictures right now of the u.n. general assembly where moments from now president obama is set to address the assembly. right now it s the brazilian president speaking. moments ago she said the nsa, quote, is meddling in the life and affairs of other countries, it is a breach of international law. that s an ally saying that. ben white, julie ann reed. congresswoman hayworth this thing with the nsa has hurt the establishment of both parties. you see the populous of both wings in both parties rising up in anger. it s united left and right. in weird ways. it s the establishment left and right and the populous left and right. yes, yes. and the debate is a very healthy
that is what we want to do. bill clinton knows what it s like to lose a fight on health care, but he s also proven to be a pretty good salesman, humanizing the law in a way the white house has struggled to do. joining me, chief economic correspondent for plit toe, ben white, managing editor, joy ann reed and nan hayworth. welcome all. the importance of bill clinton, people may forget, about three weeks ago, bill clinton laid out his first speech on health care at the clinton library in arkansas, syrian events, events over the issue of syria sort of drowned out that speech. but this is all part of the re-re-re-rollout of health care. like fourth generation. universal health care has been a driving dream of the democratic party since the truman administration. there was this huge push during the bill clinton presidency to get it done. didn t quite get there. it was hillary care and it all sort of fell apart. in a way, the obama
economy more. what we really want to see is 23 million unemployed and underemployed americans back to work. that s the big question that i haven t heard a satisfactory answer from frankly from the president, because increasing taxes, imposing very heavy burdens of new regulations, are not going to help our businesses, small ones and big ones, grow and hire. i think those are serious issues that really need discussion now and for the future. congresswoman hayworth, thank you for joining me. i appreciate your time today. thank you. at the new york stock exchange this morning, a moment of silence to honor the victims of sandy hook elementary school. what people around the country are doing to pay tribute. the acts of kindness people are doing. you may also notice a lot of people wearing green and white today. those are the sandy hook elementary school colors. still ahead, parents across this land dropped their kids off
