The Arkansas Legislative Council on Friday cleared the way for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism to use $10 million in federal American Rescue Plan funds for four parks projects.

It took a “total team effort” — everybody from city employees to Russellville residents — to receive a $24 million grant RAISE to expand Russellville’s Connected Trail System.

Two Arkansas projects will receive a total of $48.8 million in federal grants from the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity program for trails and road improvements.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) announced Friday that two U.S. Department of Transportation grants have been awarded to infrastructure projects in Arkansas.

Back of the napkin math puts the approximate budget for all of these projects just shy of half a billion dollars at $496,200,000.
