A lawsuit will be filed against a school bus driver, suburban school district and bus company after a 7-year-old was hit and killed in Park Forest last month.
Police said that the driver did not possess a legal commercial driver's license at the time. The driver had been supposed to turn in medical documents, and had not. Thus, the driver's license had been canceled 12 days before the boy died.
Park Forest said police are still investigating the death of a 7-year-old boy who died after being struck by a Kickert School Bus Line Inc., bus Friday afternoon.
The accident happened on the 100 block of Walnut Street around 3:13 p.m. while the bus was taking students home from Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District 163.
