EXCLUSIVE: A convicted paedophile and child abuser has been found dead in his prison cell after being found guilty last month of horrific crimes including three counts of rape of a young girl.

Neighbours have described a couple who were convicted of horrific child abuse as creepy and furtive and would scuttle like mice to and from their ramshackle home so to not rouse suspicions.

Cheryl Pickles, 35, and Andrew Hadwin, 39, of Fishburn, County Durham, force-fed children soap and even dangled one child over a busy motorway in a long campaign of cruelty.

A County Durham couple who abused and neglected children, forcing them to eat soap and scavenge for scraps, have been convicted following a trial.
