Around 150 people blocked the Rampura road for nearly two hours this evening (August 21, 2022) demanding justice for Sumon Sheikh, who died in police custody at Hatirjheel Police Station yesterday.
A man died in custody in Hatirjheel Police Station earlier today, hours after he was detained from Dhaka's Rampura area for the alleged theft of Tk 53 lakh from a company.
Police personnel killed in Bhola road accident UNB, Bhola UNB, Bhola
An assistant sub-inspector of police was killed in a road crash today at Bhola s Borhanuddin upazila.
The deceased was identified as ASI Aklima Akhter (38) of Bhola Sadar Police Station.
According to police, ASI Aklima went to Kunjerhat area on the motorcycle of Constable Zakaria to investigate a complaint. On their way back to Borhanuddin Police Station ASI Aklima fell off the motorcycle as Zakaria had to brake suddenly to save a pedestrian crossing the road.
A speeding truck from opposite direction at Kunjerhat bazar area ran over Aklima killing her on the spot, said Borhanuddin Police Station s Officer-in-Charge Mazhar Amin.
