A 25-year-old Indian student who had been missing since last month was found dead in the US city of Cleveland.

Offering condolences to the bereaved family, the embassy said it is extending all possible assistance to transport Mohammed Abdul Arfaths mortal remains to India. Arfath, who hailed from Nacharam in Hyderabad, was pursuing Masters in IT from Cleveland University.

Originally from Hyderabad, Mohammed Abdul Arfath travelled to the United States in May 2023 and went missing a month back.

These deaths underscore the broader challenges faced by Indian students studying in the US, with numerous reports highlighting the alarming frequency of such incidents.
