Fazil Khan, a graduate of the Columbia Journalism School, worked as a data reporter at The Hechinger Report. He had moved to New York in 2020. He was 27.

The Consulate General of India in New York expressed condolences following Khan’s death and said it is extending all possible assistance to repatriate his mortal remains to his family in India.
