A depth of about 17 miles o is pretty far down luckily all tsunami warnings have been called off the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there are no threats currently to the u. S. Or the canadian coast lines. According to the usgs since 1900 theyve actually been about 6 other earthquakes of this magnitude or stronger within about a 200 mile radius of last nights quake. The largest of it was about an 8. 2 that was way back in 1938. Now this map here shows you the severity of the shaking that was felt right at the epicenter of course major shaking was occurring but as the waves propagated out and finally reached the peninsula coastline. Those waves were more of a moderate to weak sensation which means that damage probably on the very light side if any at all no reports of any injury or damage, but well let you know if we find out anything different.
