It first relies on people caring enough about others to use the app. But it will also take local health departments quickly notifying people of positive results.As the first doses of the vaccine are celebrated, Wisconsin still has a long way to go before COVID-19 is eradicated. Continuing Coverage: Coronavirus in WisconsinThe state was informed Thursday it will only be receiving 35,100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.That s far less than expected.Wisconsin received an initial 49,725 doses Monday. This is unacceptable. Wisconsin citizens deserve the vaccine the federal government promised, Evers said. Our health care workers and long-term care residents need this vaccine that is ready and available. We call on the federal government to send us more vaccine without delay. I think you ll see vaccination programs like we have never seen before in the country, said Dr. Jeff Pothof with UW Health.The approval of one or more COVID-19 vaccines could happen as soon as Thursday.
