sarah, i want to go back to you. your thoughts? well, i think it s important to remember that religious groups that hold these beliefs have many statutory and regulatory exemptions under the law that demonstrate that they are these laws are not being imposed on them, that they are actually been exempted from these laws. for example, under the affordable care act, churches and other houses of worship are exempt from the contraception coverage. they re just battling in court so that corporations who hold these religious beliefs can be exempt from it too. same-sex marriage laws, similarly, houses of worship and pastors are exempt from them, under in states like maryland and new york, where same-sex marriage became legal by the legislator, there were exemptions for houses of worship, so a same-sex couple could not go to a priest and force them, under the law, to marry them. so yeah, i think you re making such an important point there. and it is different than some of the older
