CBSE Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said that from now on, merit lists and division-wise marks will not be announced for the CBSE results to curb 'unhealthy competition'.
The rise in pass percentage in board exams as against the pre-pandemic scores can in part be attributed to the 2021-22 academic session being split into two terms by the CBSE, according to school principals.
In 2021, the pass percentage in class 12 stood at 99.37 per cent, the highest ever recorded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The last-year result was declared on the basis of a special assessment scheme as no exams were conducted due to the pandemic.
CBSE yet to decide whether to conduct one board exam or split sessions for classes 10, 12 for 2022-23 session - However, whether the same system will continue for the new academic session or not is yet to be decided.
