Northern Territory Police have issued an infringement notice to a mine worker who failed to comply the Chief Health Officer’s directions while isolating at a mine site.
The 38-year-old man had left his room at the mine site yesterday evening and was located some three blocks away, and was not wearing a mask at the time. He was still within the mine site when located.
Incident Controller Shaun Gill said, “This man’s actions breached two of the Chief Health Officer Directions. The gentleman was escorted back to his room by mine security, and this morning police issued him a $5056 infringement notice.

COVID-19 – Charges – Breach of CHO Directions
Northern Territory Police have charged a woman after she allegedly refused to wear a mask and then spat in the face of a hospitality worker in Darwin’s CBD.
The 22-year-old woman was at a licensed premises in Mitchell Street in the early hours of Sunday morning without a mask. A security guard asked her to don her mask and she allegedly refused. On being removed from the premises, an altercation ensued and the woman allegedly spat in a staff member’s face.
Police arrived shortly after and took the woman into custody.
