Cruzs defiance prompted booing from the crowd and undercut the trumps camp to project any image of party unity. It was a truly unpress didn prp scene. Cruzs wife having to be escorted out from the queue amid taunts from delegates. Trump appearing suddenly at the back of the hall as the anticruz sentiment was reaching a fever pitch. It was designed to position cruz for a run in 2020, violating his pledge to support the nominee and prompting an outpouring of vitriol who dubbed him a narcissist, fraud and even to quote john boehner, lucifer although cruz was unapologetic.
