Conway City Council and a developers representatives discussed the proposed Warden Station Tract development during a workshop on Oct. 16, 2023.

The 150,000-SF “global center of excellence” was originally built for Hewlett Packard and housed 1,200 workers for information technology giant DXC Technologies before the COVID pandemic.

The proposed project, also known as the Warden Station Tract, could bring 1,763 acres of property into the city near Highway 701 South and Pitch Landing Road in Conway. Developers have proposed 3,200 units that include houses, townhouses and multifamily dwellings.

Two large-scale projects — which are moving through the formal process of potentially being annexed — could come to the city of Conway, bringing hundreds of residential units.

The Conway City Board approved the 2023 budget, which includes higher salaries for first responders and city employees. Future projects were also discussed.

Job training and skills development have become critical needs in Arkansas to develop talent across industries, feed business expansion and growth, and help employees build careers.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson has announced the creation of the Arkansas Manufacturing Training Center, which will be located in Conway for easy access from companies through the state. The training center is a joint venture between the Arkansas Office of Skills Development and the Conway Development Corporation.
