Augusta city councilors have enacted an emergency moratorium on any new businesses that would increase traffic volume at the city's two circles over safety concerns at intersections that already lead the state with most annual crashes.

A Maine Department of Transportation study, in response to increase in pedestrian deaths on Maine roads, recommends changes to increase visibility of pedestrian crossings.

Augusta will also get $265,000 to start a drug recovery assistance program as part of a federal budget signed into law Tuesday by President Joe Biden.

When you're in the middle of driving around the rotary, do NOT hit the brakes and stop halfway around to let other people in that are waiting at an intersecting street.

Dear City of Augusta, Leave them up and leave them on.  I am talking about the lights on the trees Memorial and Cony circles. I am not just talking about for the winter, I say leave the tree lights up and on year-round. I think that would be a nice little touch to just make us feel good.  I know when I am coming around the circle (or roundabouts or whatever they are officially called) and see the lights…they make me smile. We need more smiles.  The lights do not strike me as just a holid...
