Array Collective took this year's award for tackling taboo topics in Northern Ireland.

It certainly wasn't a vintage year for the award, but the jury's verdict could have been a whole lot worse

Array Collective is named winner of the Turner Prize 2021, chosen from a shortlist of 5 artist collectives and announced in Coventry Cathedral.

Array Collective won for their work the Sibin - a pub without permission which the jury said impressed them because of their ability to translate their activism in the gallery environment

In a first, this year’s shortlist was made up entirely of groups with no individual artist being nominated.

Array Collective, has won the Turner Prize 2021. It was announced this evening at a ceremony at Coventry Cathedral

Recent projects by Array include public artworks in support of the decriminalization of abortion in Northern Ireland and challenging legal discrimination against the queer community.
