at the white house tonight with what the president is saying. reporter: tonight less than 48 hours before robert mueller s highly anticipated testimony, the president who said he won t watch now signaling he might tune in. mr. president are you worried about wednesday? i m not going to be watching. probably, i might see a little bit of it. ooum not going to be watching mueller because you can t take all those bites out of the apple. we had a total no collusion finding. the democrats were devastated by it. they went crazy. they ve gone off the deep end. reporter: mueller who has insisted he will not say anything that is not already in his report will spend five hours in front of two house committees subpoenaed by democrats who are still divided over impeachment. now, some top democrats hope americans will take a second look. the report presents very substantial evidence that the president is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors and we have to let mueller present those facts
putin. i think he does believe in the strongman view. i think it s about him. and he s a narcissist. it s all about him. i think he looks at putin, thinks, there s a guy who controls his own parliament, doesn t have dissent, controls his media. basically has far more power than the size of his country and his economy might indicate. and he wants to be like that. added to which i think putin gets away with it a lot more. i think trump would like to get away with it a lot more. i think he looks at trump and thinks all these international bodies, they re a check on me. and they won t be a check on me. i don t want any checks on me so ooum going for the big guys. how can you go from basically saying i got along with kim jong-un, he s kind of a strong leader. that s when he was asked about the death camps. he said i think his people love him. about literally the world s most oppressive dictator. whereas, merkel is a
this is something that has been simmering for quite some time here. michael schmidt, we know what happens when this president simmers, sometimes he blows. is jeff sessions job safe? i think it would be well, look, he could get rid of sessions, and that would obviously be a very, very dramatic thing. but it would come literally on the heels of him getting rid of his fbi director. the thing about getting rid of sessions is that session, because he s recused, is not part of the russia investigation. if he was pushed aside, the president would not be criticized for that. ooum not really sure that it makes sense that because sessions recused himself, the russia issue is a problem. it seems like these congressional committees are going to move forward with this, the fbi was going to move forward with it. so it doesn t completely make logical sense to blame it on sessions. i think there s certainly a body of evidence that the government s looking at, that sessions has nothing to do wit
while the overriding sense of courtesy among senators has admittedly been in decline in recent years, i have never seen this level of partisan rancor when it comes to dealing with the president from an opposing party. i have never seen a party in the senate from its of leaders on down, publicly commit to not only opposing virtually every nominati nomination, but to attacking and maligning almost every singl nominee. let me be clear, ooum not suggesting that the senate start rubber stamping nominees, nor am i suggesting that any member of the senate should vote against their conscience or preference, simply out of respect for tradition or deference. what i am saying is that the same rules and processes, courtesies, and assumptions of good faith that have long been the hallmark of the senate confirmation process, especially
