COPPERAS COVE â The rides â and the rabbits â are back at Copperas Cove City Park.
The 41st annual Rabbit Fest began with Appreciation Night at City Park on Thursday, and the event filled with music, carnival rides, food and more is continuing through Sunday.
Ross Oliver, Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce president, and Bradi Diaz, Copperas Cove mayor, commenced the event by welcoming visitors and thanking sponsors.
âI want to welcome you to the 41st Rabbit Fest,â Oliver said. âAnd a special thank you because last year we didnât get to have it, so this year has double meaning so, this is the 40th and the 41st.â
The event will formally kick off at 5:30 p.m. Thursday with the opening ceremonies.
All festivities will take place at the Copperas Cove City Park, 1206 W. Ave. B.
âItâs actually amazing. We are so excited that people are looking forward to getting out and seeing the community, seeing each other,â said Ross Oliver, interim chamber president, of being able to hold the event again. âWe did hear that Bluebonnet Fest (in Burnet) had the largest showing theyâve had in a long time, and we are expecting the same thing.â
Weekend passes for the event that runs through Sunday are $5 for a carload, or $1 per person for individuals.
