Fairfield waives bid process, approves 3 equipment purchases
FAIRFIELD Fairfield is getting a new rear-load garbage truck, a replacement chipper truck and a replacement 10-wheel dump truck.
The City Council on Tuesday suspended competitive bidding for each purchase. The action was taken as part of the consent agenda without comment.
The NorCal Kenworth garbage truck costs $182,357; the NorCal Kenworth chipper truck costs $130,966; and the NorCal Kenworth dump truck costs $186,809.
In other action, the City Council:
• Approved a $77,556 settlement to employee Corina Rangel. The action was taken in closed session and announced in the public session. The closed session item was listed as anticipated litigation.
Fairfield council’s first meeting in new year a virtual one
FAIRFIELD The City Council on Tuesday will consider annexing 2.1 acres on Sunset Avenue, 1.23 acres of which is the site of a proposed 10,342-square-foot church and other improvements.
The meeting is the first in 2021 and will be held virtually, starting at 6 p.m. The public session follows a 5 p.m. closed session during which the council will be updated on property negotiations related to land at 640 Broadway St., and potential litigation by an employee, Corina Rangel, council agendas state.
