April 28 2021 Robert Larsen was arrested for possession of a destructive device after being stopped in a reportedly stolen vehicle. Washington County sheriff s deputies arrested a man in Cornelius Tuesday evening, April 27, they say was in possession of an explosive device. Robert Larsen, 34, was stopped at 6:23 p.m. near the intersection of South Beech Street and 20th Avenue in a known stolen vehicle, a 1999 Acura TL, the Sheriff s Office said Wednesday, April 28. After stopping the vehicle, deputies detained the four occupants, including Larsen. The Sheriff s Office that that while searching the vehicle, deputies discovered an item in the trunk they suspected was an explosive device. At that point, deputies backed away from the area, blocked off South Beech Street between 20th and 21st avenues, and called the Portland Police Bureau s Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) to assist.
