Reporter Philadelphia Water Department crews have moved their equipment to the inner Northern Bound lanes. They say repairs here are probably going to take at least through 8 00 or 9 00 at night. As doug mentioned, the water main that broke today was installed in the 1940s. The nbc10 investigators did some digging into the citys water city they found the average pipe is 67 years ago old. Investigators crunched the numbers and found it burst 8. 9 times a day in the city below the national average. The Water Department is replacing 20 to 30 miles of pipe every year. The commissioner told us that upkeep could eventually lead to higher water bills. Nbc10 has learned new information about an assault investigation at philadelphias Jefferson Station. Skyforce 10 just getting into the scene of this accident we have been following this morning in Chester County. This is the route 30 bypass westbound just past route 340. And i mentioned the fact that it involved an overturned tractortrailer but the traffic was getting by. It looks like this one just overturned off the highway. This is the first time i sam seeing this. So you can see that tractortrailer southbound off the roadway. The right lane is blocked because of the emergency officials responding to the scene, but as you can see in the live picture, the left lane is still open with traffic getting by with one lane out there, but it is not too early. We are not seeing a big delay there in the morning eastbound on the route 30 bypass. Take route 30 so get around that accident. Now, late this afternoon two of the three inner southbound lanes, again of this section of the boulevard were reopened meaning right now, five of the six southbound lanes of the boulevard are opened. That is certainly eased congestion issues on this section of the boulevard. As you take a look behind me you can see traffic gets by with no problems.
