A Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and its Director of Corps Certification, Ibrahim Muhammad, from issuing or publishing, publish disclaimer to the effect that, the NYSC certificate of national service dated 6th January, 2003, issued to the Governor-elect of Enugu state, Mr. Mbah Peter was not issued by the Corps.

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has denied issuing either a Certificate of National Service to the Enugu State governor-elect, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. In the build-up to the March 18, 2023 governorship election, Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was accused by some opposition political parties of presenting a forged NYSC certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
