Wildfire and safety concerns prompt closure of Eagle Creek Road Temporary closure will aid suppression efforts for the Snake River Complex LEWISTON, Idaho – To reduce the risks of vehicle accidents between the public and wildland firefighters actively working to suppress the Snake River Complex fires, the Bureau of Land Management’s Cottonwood Field Office has issued an emergency closure order for the Eagle Creek Road.  Limiting access to the public minimizes traffic along the narrow roadway, allowing fire suppression work in the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Areas to be conducted safely and efficiently. Effective immediately (July 19), the Eagle Creek Road is closed from the intersection of Zaza Road to the Salmon River. The road closure will remain in place while firefighters work in the area, likely through August or early September.
