Mccready came very close here, couldnt get over the top. why couldnt he get over the top? the answer is this district in a lot of ways is a microcosm of two different trends, two different phenomena, whatever you want to call them, that have really defined politics in the trump era. let me show you one of them. you see charlotte, this is the charlotte suburbs. this is mecklenburg county. this is the charlotte suburbs. a third of the district. and you see here mccready the democrat did very well ...

And tell them about how were going to move forward. i thought joe did a strong job of that last night. >> why wouldnt former secretary julian castro, yes, a former obama administration official, but hes also the former mayor of san antonio, and he hears from people certainly in texas and around the country democrats who share his views that the obama administration was not where they should have been on immigration and deportations. why shouldnt he take issue with that even as a former secretary...

Point. so i think the stakes are incredibly high this week. theres almost no way he cant deliver. its already in the report. >> well, you say that, but i think the pushback would be why didnt he make a determination? why couldnt he make a determination as to whether he committed a crime. then you have the republican who is are going to sit back and by all accounts they were originally going to be more aggressive and jim jordan was quoted in "the new york times," republican on the judiciary commi...

Thats something that adam schiff, a powerful chairman has said, that this is simply a tool. senator mazie hirono was out saying, this is not something thats going to be seen as a bipartisan call for impeachment. as you know, that has long been nancy pelosis bar for moving to impeach trump. if there was a bipartisan ground swell of support for this. and frankly, one congressman -- and that congressman being justin amash -- is not going to cut it. he is not somebody who is like a kevin mccarthy-es...

He remain in that steady -- >> i think it remains to see if hell pay a price if republicans actually side with democrats and say this is useless. it is smart on nancy pelosis part to force the resolution that the senate has to take up in terms of denouncing this emergency measure. so thats actually smart on her part. it forces republicans to actually take -- make a decision about it. thats the problem here. i dont know if it hurts him at his base at all. but i do think he needs it. i think somet...
