POLICE in Cumbria are urging the public to be mindful of livestock and sheep when walking their dogs near farms. A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “This lambing season we’re urging dog walkers to keep their dogs on their leads when near areas with sheep or livestock. “Sheep worrying is a crime and can have a distressing impact on farmers whose income depends on these animals.
