Greene County has a new tax man.
Following the recommendation of the local Republican Party, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson appointed former State Rep. Allen Icet as County Collector on Monday.
Icet replaces fellow Republican Leah Betts, who resigned last month after raising concerns about delayed personal property tax bills.
Icet will serve the remainder of Betts current four-year term, which ends in March 2023.
“I look forward to carrying out the duties of Collector of Revenue and working alongside the other elected Greene County officials,” Icet said in a news release. “I plan to do my best for the citizens and I want to continue the high level of customer service established by Ms. Betts and the hardworking staff in that office.”
