A judge on Tuesday cleared the way for Harvey Weinstein to be extradited to California from New York to face rape and sexual assault charges, nearly a year after Los Angeles prosecutors first sought to move the convicted former movie producer.
Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case in Buffalo, New York, rejected arguments by Weinstein s legal team that the paperwork for the move had not been done, and that Weinstein, 69, should stay in New York to get needed medical care.

NEW YORK (Reuters) -A judge on Tuesday cleared the way for Harvey Weinstein to be extradited to California from New York to face rape and sexual assault charges, nearly a year after Los Angeles prosecutors first sought to move the convicted former movie producer.
Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case in Buffalo, New York, rejected arguments by Weinstein s legal team that the paperwork for the move had not been done, and that Weinstein, 69, should stay in New York to get needed medical care. If California doesn t come to pick up Mr. Weinstein within a reasonable period of time, certainly come back to see me, Case told Norman Effman, a lawyer representing Weinstein.

(NEW YORK) A New York judge on Tuesday ordered that Harvey Weinstein be transferred to Los Angeles, where he faces criminal sex charges. I will respectfully deny your petition, Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case told Weinstein s defense attorney, Norman Effman, who had asked that Weinstein remain at Wende Correctional Facility near Buffalo, from which he appeared virtually in a maroon shirt with the sleeves pulled to his elbows. I can hear you, yes, your honor, Weinstein said at the outset of the extradition proceeding. He made no other statements.
Prosecutors said Los Angeles County indicated there would be likely be no movement until mid-July.
