A Bedford man accused of providing the drugs that contributed to an overdose death pleaded guilty to one charge in exchange for the dismissal of two other charges.

Two men are facing felony charges in connection to a Bedford County shooting, which occurred as a group of activists traveled through Bedford in August, court documents stated.
Bedford County District Attorney Lesley Childers-Potts announced Friday her office filed criminal charges against Schellsburg resident Terry L. Myers, 51, and Orsino V. Thurman, 37, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Myers was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge Tonya Osman on more than 40 charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, court documents state.
Thurman was charged with eight crimes, including aggravated assault, prohibited possession of a firearm, simple assault and reckless endangerment.

Bedford County District Attorney Lesley Childers-Potts announced the charges Friday following an eight-month investigation conducted by state police.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, 51-year-old Terry Myers of Schellsburg and 37-year-old Orsino Thurman of Milwaukee, WI, have both been charged related to the incident.
“The charges filed against Mr. Myers and Mr. Thurman are based upon the facts of the case, not emotion or popular opinion,” said DA Childers-Potts. “I was not willing to make a charging decision based upon incomplete information. My office does everything we can to ensure that investigations and prosecutions are unbiased and this case was no different.”
