The person arrested has been identified as Daniel Ontiveros-Lopez, 51, of Citra.
Two people, a man and woman from one of the vehicles, were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. The woman died. Troopers did not release her name, identifying her only by age (51) and hometown (Ocala.)
The man is age 67 and from Ocala. His name was not released, either. As of Friday evening, he was listed in critical condition.
Ontiveros-Lopez also was taken to ORMC. Once medically cleared, he was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was booked on two counts of driving without a valid driver s license that causes death or seriously bodily injuries.

SUMMERFIELD One man was killed and four others injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 441 just south of County Road 42.
Debris from the crash destroyed a water line, causing approximately 30,000 gallons of water to spill along the highway.
A Toyota Highlander SUV was northbound on U.S. 441 and a pickup truck was southbound, and for unknown reasons, the pickup crossed the grassy median and struck the SUV, witnesses told Florida Highway Patrol troopers.
The SUV stopped, and the pickup overturned on the passenger side in the grassy median. The driver, who was the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pre-dawn collision Friday claims man s life north of Ocala
A two-vehicle crash on Friday morning north of Ocala claimed the life of one person shortly before dawn Friday.
The driver of a semi truck with a large flatbed trailer pulled out from a private driveway to turn west onto State Road 326. In crossing the roadway, the vehicle blocked eastbound traffic. The driver later told state troopers he was waiting for the westbound traffic to clear before moving.
As he was waiting, the driver said he noticed a car had turned right from north U.S. 441, and was approaching his vehicle. The car collided with the trailer, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
