A teenager has admitted to stabbing two Hudson Valley men on the Jersey Shore during a fight last year, authorities said.
Juwan Roman, age 18, of Newark, pleaded guilty on Thursday, May 13 to two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
Roman s name was made public this week after he waived his right to juvenile status in Family Court.
Roman was 17 during the 2020 assault, but he voluntarily agreed to be prosecuted as an adult, the prosecutor said.
On Sept. 7, 2020, at about 3:30 p.m., Point Pleasant police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls about a fight on Jenkinson’s Beach.

Jesse Yazzie was born with artistic talent, even if he didn t always appreciate his gift.
“I can’t remember not drawing. It was always something I did for fun, but then when I started to get a little bit older, I put it away,” he said.

Yazzie would spend most of his young adult life in and out of jail for various reasons, a path that started on when he was 15. As a child he buried the skill he was born with, not knowing it would lead him to redemption.
Now, at 27, his story has inspired others and the artist has a new mural in downtown Phoenix, a mural he painted just four months after his release.
