The Wayne County Quilts of Valor Ceremony is set for this Sunday at First Christian Church at 2 PM in Fairfield. Officials with the group say 53 veterans over all divisions of the military will be honored. Since the inception of the Wayne County Quilts of Valor 2 years ago, the group has handed out nearly 300 quilts to area veterans. WFIW will be live streaming the ceremony on Sunday. Organizers of the event say they feel this is a way to give back to area veterans and say they are there for them. Wayne County Quilts of Valor would like to say thanks to Fairfield National Bank as well as their many volunteers for their support of the program. The group is taking nominations for more quilts as well as seeking more volunteers. Information will be available on volunteering as well as working on nominating a veteran to receive a quilt at the ceremony on Sunday.
