OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. The Okanogan County Sheriff said a 77-year-old woman from Tonasket who was the subject of a Silver Alert was found dead in Ferry County Tuesday.
Okanogan County Sheriff Tony Hawley said Alberta Russell s death was likely caused by exposure to the elements.
Ferry County Sheriff Ray Maycumber said a grater operator reported seeing a vehicle on the side of Karamip Road at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday and they thought someone might have been inside. Maycumber said the road is a Forest Service road and during this time of year it is odd to see a car. He said a deputy responded to the area and found Russell s body.
