A total of 22,873 under-trial prisoners, including 289 children, have secured bail from virtual courts across the country in the last 13 working days.
Supreme Court Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman in a statement today said the subordinate courts have disposed a total of 2,944 bail petitions in connection with different criminal cases through virtual hearings and granted bail to 1,412 under trial prisoners yesterday.
With yesterday s bail orders, 22,873 people, including 289 accused children, secured bail from subordinate courts across the country in the last 13 working days, he said, adding that a total of 41,920 bail petitions of the accused were disposed during this period.

A total of 20,039 under trial prisoners, including 246 minors, were released from jails after they secured bail from virtual courts across the country in last 11 working days.
Supreme Court Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman in a statement today said the subordinate courts have disposed of total 2,728 bail petitions in different criminal cases during virtual hearing and granted bail to 1,395 under trial prisoners yesterday.

A total of 12,258 under-trial prisoners got released from jails after securing bail from virtual courts across the country in six working days till yesterday (Tuesday).
Supreme Court Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman, in a statement, said a total of 20,953 bail petitions were disposed during the period.
Yesterday, the subordinate courts disposed of 2,973 bail petitions in connection with different criminal cases through virtual hearing and granted bail to 1,576 under-trial prisoners.
The regular activities of courts across the country, including the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court remain suspended, due to ongoing surge of Covid-19 cases.

A total of 7,204 under-trial prisoners have been released from jail after they secured bail from virtual courts across the country in the last three working days.
Supreme Court Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman in a statement said the subordinate courts have disposed of 3,986 bail petitions in connection with different criminal cases through virtual hearings and granted bail to 2,360 under-trial prisoners yesterday.
With yesterday s bail orders, a total of 7,204 people received bail from the subordinate courts across the country on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, he said.
The regular activities of courts across the country including the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court are suspended due to the ongoing rapid surge of Covid-19 cases and deaths. The closures are scheduled to continue till April 21.
