Months after Conair’s former owners sold the Stamford company to New York investors, a member of the Rizzuto family appears to be looking to do the same with his “ranch” on the city’s wooded northern border — owned once by a heavyweight boxing champion during the 1920s.
The property — known as Star Meadow Ranch — was listed for sale over the weekend for $20 million, amid an ongoing stampede by New York buyers for homes and land in Connecticut.

ROCKPORT, Texas — It is hard to add to your reputation as a travel destination during a pandemic, but in Rockport, the effort is certainly there.
As one of the communities hardest hit during Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Rockport and the surrounding area have had the most work to do when it comes to recovery.
New development at Cove Harbor should help.
“It's got a full clubhouse with fitness and social areas, a swimming pool and laundromat,” says owner and developer, Haythem Dawlett. “If you're that person who wants to get away for a week and you don't want to be around a crowd of other RV users, it's definitely the place.”
Texas coastal areas will be closed to fishing due to freeze Matt Wyatt, Staff writer
Areas on the Texas coast are being closed to fishing while an arctic blast sweeps much of the country, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department announced Saturday.
The closure will take effect at midnight on Monday through 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
"The high mortality that a freeze can cause may deplete fish stocks for years," Robin Riechers, director of TPWD’s coastal fisheries division, said in a release.
"Protection of the surviving fish during the few days when they are especially vulnerable to capture would likely shorten the time period for overall recovery of coastal species, especially spotted sea trout."

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has issued a temporary closure to saltwater fishing along parts of the Texas coast to protect resources during freezing weather conditions. The closure takes effect at 12:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 and extends through 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
In addition to killing game fish in shallow bay waters, a hard freeze can also cause surviving fish to congregate in a few deeper areas where they become sluggish and prone to capture. Those are the areas the department has temporarily closed.
