Chicago Teachers Union leaders told members during a closed-door town hall call Sunday evening to report to school Monday, but they plan to gauge support for a district-wide remote learning action later this week.

Chicago teachers are expected to vote Tuesday on whether to defy Chicago Public Schools’ orders to return to classrooms amid a spike in city COVID-19 cases.

The district said that schools were cleaned over the winter break, but the teacher's union is apparently considering going against the district and returning to remote learning.

Chesapeake Public Schools families and teachers are preparing to return to the classroom next week with masking optional for students, starting Jan. 3. Meanwhile, News 3 is hearing from CPS officials and Virginia Dept. of Health leaders about the decision.
