On Tuesday, school district polling places will open so voters can decide whether to approve proposed school budgets for 2021-22 and choose school board members for the coming years.
Many polling places have changed since last year, so would-be voters should check with their school district to make sure they go to the right place.
Here are budget highlights, school board candidates and polling hours for school districts in Oneida and Herkimer counties:

ROME, NY - The Rome NAACP held a virtual “Meet the Candidates” on Monday via Zoom so the public could get to know the people who are running for the Rome school board.
There are currently five candidates running for three open seats on the Board.
They are Dr. Stephen Hampe, Elena Cardwell-Reddick, Craig Ferretti, Felicia James-Williams, and Anna Megerell.
The candidates answered a variety of questions from the community ranging from why they think they re qualified to be a board member, their thoughts on school resource officers, and how they would help students deal with the strain of learning during the pandemic.
