The Michigan Department of Transportation is preparing for a busy road construction season along M-25 in St. Clair and Sanilac Counties. Construction Engineer Craig Innis of MDOT's Huron Transportation Center says two separate sections of the highway are slated to be resurfaced this summer. A mile and a half of M-25 between Hancock Street in Port Huron and M-136 in Fort Gratiot, including the Black River Canal Bridge, will be the subject of a $5.8 million dollar road construction project beginning April 4th. "It will not shut down M-25 but there will be lane closures," says Innis. "We're going to have least three lanes open during the day at all times, one lane in each direction, and and center turn lane." It is expected to be completed by August. During the nighttime hours, the road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Left turns onto Holland Avenue from M-25 will be restricted during bridge repairs.
