Cumberland school officials took time at their monthly meeting to celebrate completing the first semester of the school year with no interruptions due to COVID-19.
Cris Ingram from the Cumberland County Health Department was present to thank school officials for the work done to maintain safety and continue education.
It was decided that if a student wants to return to in-person instruction, they may do so on January 5, the start of the third quarter.
Cumberland Superintendent Todd Butler plans to send a mass text to all members of the district about plans to continue instructional days on Monday through Thursday, with Fridays remaining for remote learning.
