cease-fire mode with israel since the last flare-up of cross border attacks. largely that cease fire was brokered in part by the direct support of president morsi. his departure could very well create circumstances where the where hamas may say all bets are off. we re no longer shackled by the morsi muslim brotherhood regime. i think israel is not only looking with great concern over the status of what emerges here in the sinai s he pointed out because of the lawlessness of islamic terrorists but also what is hamas and the other terrorist organizations inside the gaza trip center going to do as a result of this change of government. we re looking at somebody being hoisted in the air. it looks like a party in tahrir square. surely there is great joy at this coup or revolution depending on your perspective. we also have to remember that 23 people lost their lives yesterday. so not for everybody is this a
you re right i m on the border and i have to say in the last hour and a half we have been here, we have heard a good dozen explosions. there haven t been any sounds of planes flying overheard, so we assumed these were gun boats or tanks. but they are loud. they are just inside the southern gaza border. we are on the egyptian side of the boarder. even if they are close to peace, there s still a major prosecution of war going on. in terms of the demands, we know what we have heard, what s been leaked over the past 24 hours in terms of the demands, and it seems like both sides must still be at logger heads if you put the two lists of demands together. israel of course is calling for an end to the rocket attacks and especially to border cross border attacks which has been a real problem for them. hamas on the other hand is saying that the war will
greater sympathy for the palestinians an the arabs and less sympathy for israel and the united states. so what are the chances of the cease fire that is trying to be brokered in egypt of taking place or holding? well, the cease fire between hamas and israel is an oxymoron. ever since the 2008 gaza/israeli war with where you know there was enormous destruction and humane tan yar suffering there s always been these rockets. this rockets have only escalated and cross border attacks. a feast cease fire will not hold as long as hamas controls the gaza strip. should think u.s. stop funding egypt? would that make a difference? i m in the in favor of that. i believe there needs to be more conditionality on the assistance. after all, we are providing over $3.5 billion in both military
