April is National Volunteer Month and this is National Volunteer Week, which is an important opportunity to highlight the significant decline in volunteering in this country, along with the multitude of benefits that giving back brings to those who lend their time, talent, and/or resources to those in need.
A power outage at a Houston water plant caused low water pressure across the city. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said he believes the water is safe, but is waiting on confirmation from the state.
"Driving conditions are impossible if you were to go out there right now. There's debris falling from buildings, trees are coming down," said Paul Middendorf, Director of Crowdsource Rescue, a non-profit that came into existence after Hurricane Harvey.
