In 2014, India became the first country to make CSR mandatory, and today, more than 80% companies in India have CSR programmes. This is more than what is reported from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, even though they are more prosperous than India.

The India Climate Collaborative has launched a platform, Earth Exponential, with the backing of JSW Foundation, to increase funding for environmental causes, which accounted for less than 10% of corporate social responsibility funding between 2015 and 2021. The platform will bring together funders and non-profits to highlight credible, high-impact, and India-led climate solutions.
