BATON ROUGE, La. An ex-New Orleans police officer awaiting execution for the murders of a fellow officer and two other people during a 1995 restaurant robbery lost a chance at clemency Friday during a meeting of Louisiana s pardon board.
Antoinette Frank, the infamous New Orleans police officer and the only woman facing execution in Louisiana, will argue for mercy along with four condemned men on Friday as the Louisiana Board of Pardons weighs clemency hearings for the first in a historic batch of pleas from death-row.
The Louisiana Board of Pardons also rejected clemency hearings for Clifford Deruise and Danny Irish, who were seeking mercy before Gov. John Bel Edwards leaves office Jan. 8.
