On Sunday, Bangladesh intensified its evacuation efforts in vulnerable areas in anticipation of the severe cyclonic storm Remal, which is expected to make landfall by evening or midnight. The storm is forecasted to bring a significant tidal surge and heavy rainfall to the coastal districts of Satkhira and Coxs Bazar.

Around 4,000 cyclone shelter centres have been readied in the coastal districts, equipped with adequate dry food supplies.
