Hundreds of VSU students, faculty, and staff walked the campus on Monday morning to show it was okay to talk about mental health and that there was no stigma in asking for help.
VSU leaders said the day was to address COVID-19 mental fatigue and to mitigate increased loneliness, stress, anxiety and depression that is in part due to the pandemic.
A man charged with murder three years ago in the stabbing death of his boyfriend at an East Side apartment was acquitted Friday afternoon after a week-long jury trial in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
The jury deliberated for only about two hours before returning the not-guilty verdict for Anthony C. Wofford III.
The jurors watched cellphone video that a witness, Wilkerson s teenage nephew, recorded of a fight that immediately preceded the stabbing in Wofford s apartment in the 5600 block of Hibernia Drive.
The video shows Wilkerson assaulting Wofford, including slamming his head against a door and dragging him across the floor by his hair. The video ends as Wofford lunges toward the kitchen, where he grabbed a knife used in the stabbing.
